The inaugural Paddle to the Max event was held on Saturday 2nd May 2, 2026, at Fairfield Canoe Club. Over 80 paddlers of all ages participated, 11 paddling solo and the others making up teams of 2 and 4. Camberwell Grammar School, MLC, Trinity Grammar School and Strathcona attended.

The design of the day - a 5-hour endurance event - encapsulated Max’s spirit. He was always doing things to the max and he would have loved the idea of a paddling event being established in his memory.

The event raised funds for the National Allergy Centre of Excellence.

An incredible 1152km were paddled during the 5 hours, and we look forward to beating this figure next year!
